Your brothers who are with you in the da’wah are of two categories
The first: (He) is the one who is like your right hand and your faithful trustworthy pillar and your strong support in every affair – in the worldly as well as religious (affairs). They cause you to increase in every good and prevent you from every evil.
Therefore Allaah said – as stated by Moosa عليه السلام – describing this (type of companion):
“Harun (Aaron), my brother. Increase my strength with him. And let him share my task (of conveying Allah’s Message and Prophethood). That we may glorify You much and remember You much” [Taa-Haa 30-34]
The second: (They) are virtuous brothers however they are not convened (or consulted) in the affairs and the chests do not feel safe / protected with them (hence they are not resorted to). They are absent at times and are present at times, they are hardworking at times and are laidback (lazy) at times. Hence they are like those whose hearts are inclined to the truth (but they need to be attracted), so it is necessary to attract them and bring them closer through various ways. In spite of that, many of them collapse (stray away from the truth) because they are predominantly the fuel of fitan (i.e. they often get involved in or affected by various tribulations), and Allaah is the One in Whom aid is sought.
Therefore Allaah said while describing some of them:
“And among mankind is he who worships Allaah as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face…” [Al-Hajj 11]
