What does a Good Ending to a person mean?

Profound Reminder – Good Endings by our noble teacher, Abul ‘Ataa Ahmad Banaajah – May Allaah preserve him.

The good ending does not require that a person dies while in the masjid during prayer or holding the Qur’aan in the hands only, even though this is all from the signs of good endings, but it is not limited to these only.

This is why the best of mankind, our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ died on his bed on the chest of his noble wife, Aa’isha, may Allaah be pleased with her.

Then the noble friend of the prophet ﷺ, Abu Bakr may Allaah be pleased with him, died on his bed, and he is the best of people after the prophet ﷺ and the rest of the Prophets and messengers عليهم الصلات والسلام .

Other companions died on their beds as well, including Khalid bin Al-Walid, may Allaah be pleased with him, died on his bed, while he was the sword of Allaah Almighty, who fought many battles for the sake of Allaah Almighty and sacrificed all his money for that.

📌 Therefore, it is a good ending that you die, while you are upon tawheed and free from any shirk.

📌 It is a good ending to die while you are a true believer and free of any hypocrisy.

📌 It is a good ending that you die, while you are on the sunnah and free from any innovations.

📌 It is a good ending to die and you are following the Book and the Sunnah, believing in what came in them upon the understanding of the salaf, may Allaah Almighty have mercy on them.

📌 It is a good ending to die while you are free from the blood of the Muslims and their money. And you fulfill the rights of Allaah The Most High upon you and the rights of His servants upon you. Being far away from heedlessness regarding the hereafter while being busy in the worldly matters.

📌 It is a good ending that you die with a sound heart, with pure intentions and good manners; Do not bear hatred, jealousy or grudge against a Muslim.

📌 It is a good ending to pray, fast, and do what you have been legally ordered and end with what you are forbidden by the legislation of Allaah.

And the summary of all of this is that you meet your Lord while you are steadfast on the path of righteousness that Allaah Almighty has chosen for His servants, as Allaah Almighty has said;

Allaah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allaah Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter. And Allaah will cause to go astray those who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.), and Allaah does what He wills. [Suratul Ibraaheem 27]

The Imaam AsSaadi, may Allaah have mercy on him said:

“Allaah Almighty tells us that He will keep firm His faithful servants, i.e. those who completed their faith according to their good deeds.So Allaah will keep them firm upon guidance and certainty when the doubts and desires presents itself, Allaah Azza wa Jall will also keep them having a strong will to do whatever Allaah loves for them to do. In the time of the death, they will be firm upon the religion and be granted with the good ending.”

O Allaah, grant us the best endings in all matters and reward us and protect us from the exposure to the worldly distractions and the punishment in the hereafter.
