From the Book:

The increasing of Eemaan has causes, from it:

1. Knowing the names of Allah and His Attributes.
2. Looking into the universal and legislative signs.
3. Doing righteous actions.
4. Leaving off disobedience out of fear of Allah The Mighty and Majestic.

As for the decreasing of Emaan, then this has causes:

1. Ignorance of Allah The Most high and His Names and Attributes.
2. Heedlessness and turning away from looking into the signs of Allah and His universal and legislative rulings.
3. Committing sins.
4. Leaving off obedience.
